Join local reporter and historian John Muller on a walk through Old Anacostia, examining the neighborhood through the eyes of residents past and present.
Blending historic research and contemporary Ward 8 politics, our guide will lead the group on a walk through time, exploring our city’s most historic Historic District. Stories of presidents, famed resident Frederick Douglass, 19th-century architecture and neighborhood folklore will be woven throughout.

Congressional Unleashed: Guided Tour for Dogs

Discover where the bones are buried in a Fido-friendly tour of Congressional Cemetery by one of our expert docents. This variation of our introductory tour highlights a selection of some of our notable residents, many of whom were devoted to dogs and pets. You’ll learn about the origin of our celebrated K9 Corps and its vital role in the cemetery’s transformation from endangered historic site to national historic landmark. True to its name, the “Unleashed” tour takes a walk when the grounds are open to members of our off-leash dog walking program.

Join Sara VanderGoot, co-founder of Mind the Mat, Prenatal & Post-pregnancy Yoga Instructor, Doula, and Nationally Certified Massage Therapist to learn about what to expect during each stage of labor and how to manage discomfort. She will teach you what she does as a doula when she assists births!
Partners will learn and practice hands on techniques and you will both leave class feeling well equipped and knowledgable about labor, delivery and how to navigate both successfully.
